Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc was bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) for Rs 11.75 crore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction 2025 that was held in Jeddah on November 24 (Sunday).
In the 2024 IPL auction, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had acquired Starc for a whopping Rs 24.75 crore, which was a record at that time.

Starc has played 41 matches across three seasons in the IPL, taking 51 wickets with an average of 22.29 and an economy rate of 8.21.
Starc made his IPL debut in 2014 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and in that season he played 14 matches taking 14 wickets at an average of 28.71 and an economy rate of 7.49.
Starc’s best bowling figures in the IPL came for RCB in the 2015 season when he took 4/15 against Punjab Kings (PBKS). This was arguably Starc’s best IPL season. He was the standout bowler for RCB and instrumental in their campaign.
In the 2024 IPL season, Starc played 14 matches, taking 17 wickets with an average of 26.12 and an economy rate of 10.61.
